Cooktop Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair gas, electric, and glass cooktops across Little Rock and the surrounding states, so call us and tell us what the burner is doing. Cooktops usually fail in small ways first. One burner clicks and clicks, a glass surface heats in patches, or a gas flame burns lazy and orange instead of tight and blue. Then one morning nothing lights. The usual causes are spark modules, burner switches, surface elements, radiant sensors, and gas valves gummed up by years of boil-overs. On a visit we pull power, test the element or igniter circuit, check continuity, and look under the top where spills collect. We install cooktops too, so if the frame is cracked or the parts are gone from the market, we will say so plainly instead of stacking repairs.

Cooktop Repair — residential cooktop being serviced

The cooktop symptoms we hear most

  • "It clicks but won't light" Spark module, wet or cracked igniter, clogged burner port
  • "One burner stays cold" Failed surface element, broken infinite switch, burned terminal block
  • "The flame is orange and floppy" Gas-air mix, blocked ports, or a regulator or orifice sized for the wrong fuel
  • "Burner runs full blast on low" Shorted infinite switch, or a stuck control relay on electronic boards
  • "Glass top shows a crack after a pot slipped" Ceramic surface damage, which is a safety issue and not a cosmetic one

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Check that the breaker for the cooktop didn't trip. A half-tripped double breaker can kill some burners and leave others working.
  • 2On a gas unit, lift the grates and burner caps, then confirm each cap sits flat and seated in its groove.
  • 3After a spill or a scrub, make sure the igniter ports are dry and free of crumbs.
  • 4On an electric coil top, wiggle the coil in its receptacle and see whether it seats snugly instead of tilting loose.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Describe what you hear, see, or smell. Grinding, leaking, no heat, an error code on the panel. Those details let us load likely parts on the van before we ever pull into your driveway.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose in person

Our technician tests the machine, checks power and water lines, and finds the part that actually failed. Well-water sediment and clogged valves fool a lot of guesswork. We confirm the cause before touching a wrench.

  3. Step 3

    Fix it or swap it

You get the honest read. Some machines need one part and have years left in them. Others are worn past sense. Because we also install, we can set the replacement level and connected on the same visit.

Cooktop Repair — quick answers

Is a cracked glass cooktop worth repairing?

Usually the fix means replacing the whole glass panel, and on older units that part gets scarce. We look up availability while we're standing there and tell you whether replacement makes better sense than repair.

Why does one burner spark when I turn on a different one?

Gas cooktops often share one spark module across all the burners. A shorted switch or moisture in a single igniter can make every position fire at once. Cleaning and drying helps sometimes. A bad switch needs replacing.

Can you work on both gas and electric cooktops?

Yes. We handle sealed gas burners, open-coil electric, and radiant and induction glass tops. Each one fails differently, so tell us the type when you call us and we'll bring likely parts.

My well water leaves scale on everything. Does that affect a cooktop?

Boil-overs from mineral-heavy water bake into a hard crust around burner ports and under glass edges. That crust blocks gas flow and traps heat. Regular cleaning with the right products slows it down considerably.

Do you repair cooktops separate from the wall oven?

Often yes. Plenty of kitchens run a separate cooktop and a built-in oven with their own controls. If they share a control board, we'll trace which side of the circuit is causing the problem.

How long does a typical cooktop repair take?

Most single-burner issues get sorted in one visit when the part is common. Control boards and glass panels sometimes have to be ordered. We'll tell you which category you're in before we leave your kitchen.

Why homeowners call us

  • Two families, one crewWe are not a call center routing tickets to strangers. The person answering the phone knows the technicians by name, and you get the same small group of hands in your kitchen and laundry room every time.
  • Straight swap-vs-fix talkInstallers see what breaks in year two. Repair techs see what lasts a decade. We do both, so we will tell you when a repair makes sense and when your money belongs in a new machine instead.
  • Storm season readyTornado season brings surges, outages, and flooded utility rooms. Control boards fry, and motors seize after water sits. We stock common boards and dry-run every machine before we leave, so you are not calling us back next week.
  • Well water experienceSediment and hard minerals wreck inlet valves, dishwasher jets, and ice makers. We see it constantly out past the city lines. We clean, we replace, and we show you the filter habit that keeps the same failure from coming back.
